Aroma: A soft and rounded nose sensation calms the senses and then introduces a first floating note of fresh oiled wood. Next, rising through this, savory and meaty notes suggest the animal within, but also carries a sweet tartness, suggestive of roasted pheasant with currant jelly. The senses are heightened as these pitch-perfect aromas in turn reveal a deeper heather base, rich in heather pollen and freshly crushed herbs. A drop of water completes the anticipation and produces a sweet, fruity touch of lime.
Taste: The pleasure builds even more as a big, super-smooth texture envelops the palate. The wonderfully intense flavor is vanilla-sweet, but easily embraces a savory finish, spicy-dry, as the new oak makes its presence felt, with a surprising kick of chili pepper on the finish. Magnificently wild and full of life on the palate, these flavors run across the tongue.
Aftertaste: Long and deeply impressive, with power, fruit and spice in perfect harmony, while a warming peppery glow spreads into the aftertaste, where a splash of water brings out a fresh floral-herbal note to illuminate the deeper night.
